The World Athletics (formerly IAAF) sent an email to the Chinese Athletics Association to officially confirm Su Bingtian as a member of the Athletes' Commission of World Athletics.
A total of 6 athletes were nominated as new members of the Athletes' Commission. In addition to Su Bingtian, other notable nominees were famous Syrian high jumper Majd Eddin Ghazal, Kenyan women's 3,000-meter hurdles world champion Milcah Chemos Cheywa, Kazakh women's triple jump Olympic champion Olga Rypakova, South African sprinter Akani Simbine, and Ivorian women's 100-meter and 200-meter world championship runner-up Marie-Josee Ta Lou.
The first task for the 6 new members was to participate in the working meeting of the Athletes' Commission to be held in Monaco on November 20.
Su Bingtian, 30, is the current Asian record holder in men's 100m and indoor 60m. He won the silver medal in the 60m at the 2018 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, England and helped the Chinese team to win the silver medal in men's 4x100m relay race at the IAAF World Championships, Beijing 2015.
