Hong Kong held the annual honours and awards presentation ceremony at the government house from November 20 to 22. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, presented honours and awards to 157 people on the first ceremony day. Jonathan Choi, a Standing Committee member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, chairman of Sun Wah Group, an honorary citizen of Zhongshan, and also honorary chairman of the Zhongshan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, received the Grand Bauhinia Medal. It is reported that the Grand Bauhinia Medal is the highest honor in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong SAR Government recognized Jonathan Choi's faithful service to Hong Kong for many years, devotion to promoting Hong Kong's economic and social development, and role in promoting Hong Kong's significance to the Belt and Road initiative, making great contributions to enhance Hong Kong's competitiveness and development potential.
On November 21, the Zhongshan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese sent a congratulatory letter to Mr Choi, expressing their congratulations and expectations for his continued contributions to the development of his hometown Zhongshan.
