On July 17 BJT, China's Chen Yiwen/Chang Yani defended their title in the women's synchronized 3m springboard finals in the World Aquatics Championships 2023. It was the fourth gold for Chen and third for Chang in the World Aquatics Championships, and the sixth for Team China in this year's edition.

Chen has taken four golds in three consecutive editions of the World Aquatics Championships.

Chen, born in 1999, was selected into the diving team of Zhongshan Sports School in August 2008, the Guangdong provincial team in 2014, and the national team in 2016.
