Battle, starring street dance girl Xi Jiaqi from Zhongshan, opened in movie theaters nationwide on April 12.
Growing up in a troubled family, Xi Jiaqi began street dancing at the age of 7. She became widely known for her passion for street dance, and she rose to fame in an international competition at the age of 12 and later became the first captain of the CHUC National Youth Street Dance Team. From childhood to adulthood, Xi Jiaqi put great efforts in both dancing and studying while trying to alleviate the family burden for her sick mother.
As a representative of China's new-generation street dancers, Xi Jiaqi starred in Our Lives, the first domestic street dance-themed stage show, portraying the lives of ordinary people through dancing. She also participated in the variety show Street Dance of China Season VI to exchange street dance skills with renowned dancers from the globe.
The movie also brings together other outstanding street dancers in China, such as Dino Huang, Louis Lu and Yu Wenle, to play out the story of pursuing dreams that inspires more young Chinese dancers to step onto the global stage.
