175 years ago, the first group of Chinese people arrived in Peru. 138 years ago, the SOCIEDAD CENTRAL DE BENEFICENCIA CHINA was established, and it is the largest overseas Chinese organization. In 1992, 32 years ago, Paulo Jop (also called Zhongru Wong), who is also known as the "Peruvian Shoe King", became the chairman of the SOCIEDAD CENTRAL DE BENEFICENCIA CHINA.
On September 29, 2024, Paulo Jop returned to Zhongshan with his family, and he visited the former residence of Zheng Zaoru and the Zhongshan Museum of Overseas Chinese History, as well as the ancestral home in Denglongkeng Village. During this trip, he revealed the success story of a Hakka child who built a "business empire" in a foreign land.
