The first Qiwan Golden Dragon Cultural Festival in East District kicked off in Qiwan Community on the morning of August 8. The 63-meter-long Intangible Cultural Heritage golden dragon led the parade to pass through the Former Residence of Yang Ziyi, Ancestral Hall of the Yang Family, Longteng Temple and other venues. Villagers along the route set off firecrackers in celebration.
In addition to the Golden Dragon Parade, there were also interesting traditional activities such as handmade Zhazuo (crafting with rattan and paper) experience sessions and various folk culture performances. The sponsors also presented the audience with music evenings, orienteering races, tour guide selection competitions, and traditional cultural and creative fairs.
In order to celebrate the Golden Dragon Cultural Festival, Qiwan Community also carried out micro-renovations around Qiwan Street. The walls along the street have been painted, many special tourist routes have been introduced, and the living conditions of Qiwan Community has been improved.
The first Qiwan Golden Dragon Cultural Festival lasts for two weekends. Citizens can still have fun on August 15 and 16.
