The Zhongshan Special Education School offered a special performance by its Sign Language Dance Team which served as a prelude to the 2018 “Zhongshan Good People” and Moral Models Exchange Meeting. The event was held on Wednesday night at the Zhongshan Culture and Art Center.

Twenty-nine model citizens were awarded the “Zhongshan Good People” award for the second half of last year. The meeting also awarded prizes to the ten nominees and the ten winners of the third group of “Moral Models.”

Three new “Good People Studios” were also rewarded at the meeting. The studios are owned respectively by Sun Yongfeng who, with his own savings, opened a charitable book house named “Volumes Tower,” Chen Yanlian, who helps farmers on the road to prosperity, and Yang Cheng, the helpful “vocal king of employees.”

It is noteworthy that the newly-awarded “Zhongshan Good People” received their certificates from previous winners and moral models. This gesture was symbolic of the continued kindhearted spirit for which the Good People award has come to symbolize.

Zhongshan launched the “Good People Around You” selection campaign, and it has been running since July, 2010. Since that time, it has seen 425 citizens who have been awarded the title of “Zhongshan Good People.”
