First Cantonese cuisine chef training course to open

Zhongshan Sanxiang Polytechnic School as one of the two Cantonese cuisine chef training bases in Zhongshan plans to open its first Cantonese cuisine chef training course on August 12. Student recruitment is now underway.

The first Cantonese cuisine chef training course includes 12 classes scheduled for Monday to Friday at night and Saturday and Sunday at daytime. Coursework includes basic theories of Chinese-style cuisine, basic practice on cutting skills, basic theories and skills of Chinese-style pastries, and recipes of over 30 renowned dishes such as Grilled Green Pepper, Stuffed Dace, Best Steamed Dumpling, Corrugated Steamed Dumpling.

"The first training course will be jointly provided by Guangdong Zheng Yaorong Cantonese Cuisine Studio and Zhongshan Ye Qinzhi Cantonese Cuisine Chef Studio," said a staff member of Zhongshan Sanxiang Polytechnic School.

It is worth noting that students attending the course will be eligible for double subsidies. Tuition fee for the course is 1,800 yuan per person. However, they only need to pay 800 yuan each, as the balance will be covered by the government and the training base, said the staff member.

In addition, each student can also apply for a skill promotion subsidy of 2,000 yuan at most after the course if he/she has obtained a skill certificate.
