The Zhongshan Bureau of Ecology and Environment on the morning of July 22 held a regular press conference to report on the progress of the decisive battle against pollution over the first half of this year.
In June this year, the air quality of Zhongshan ranked 2nd among 168 key cities in China, and 7th from January to June.
In the first half of the year, Zhongshan's air quality reached the standard on 173 days, a rate of 95.1%. The average concentrations of PM10, PM2.5 and NO2 were 32, 18 and 21 μg/m³ respectively, a decrease of 13.5%, 28.0%, and 27.6% respectively from last year.
In terms of water quality, from January to June this year, the qualification rate of the drinking water from municipal centralized supply sources in Zhongshan has been maintained at 100%; Buzhou section of Modaomen waterway, Zhuhai Bridge section, Hongqili section, and Zhongshan Ferry Terminal section of Hengmen waterway reached 100% cleanliness.
