On the morning of July 28, the Chinese Baseball Association, Zhongshan Education and Sports Bureau, Dongsheng Town Government and Guangdong Panda Sports and Culture Industry Co Ltd signed an agreement on co-building of China's junior baseball team. The Chinese Baseball Association has authorized Zhongshan to be the training base to train young players for China's U12 junior baseball team, who will represent China in various international junior baseball competitions of this age group.

Dongsheng Town is approved by the General Administration of Sport of China and the National Development and Reform Commission as a special baseball characteristic sports town. It is also approved as a "high-level baseball reserve talent cultivation base" by the Chinese Baseball Association.
