Following the 2020 Zhongshan Food Safety Working Conference, the Zhongshan Municipal Food Safety Office held a press briefing to officially release the "Zhongshan Report on Food Safety in 2019" on August 13. This is the 5th consecutive year since 2015 that Zhongshan has released a report on food safety to the public.

The report includes six chapters: a summary of Zhongshan's food industry, food poisoning and emergency capacity, random food safety inspection results, the supervision of food safety, the supervision of food safety, and exemplary municipal food safety city creation satisfaction level. With rich data, lists and graphic materials, Zhongshan's 2019 food safety situation was comprehensively summarized.

In 2019, the overall qualification rate of food safety supervision and random inspection in Zhongshan was 98.2%, and there were no major food safety accidents throughout the year. Citizens' satisfaction with food safety scored 82.6, and the overall situation of food safety in Zhongshan continued to be orderly and controllable. In the Guangdong Food Safety Assessment 2019, Zhongshan got an A mark, which was praised by People's Government of Guangdong Province.
