The 2020 Nanlang Rice Paddy Music Festival opened on November 21st. The paddy fields were filled with the joyous sounds of harvest and songs floated through the air. In recent years, with the “Zuobu Bookstore”, a popular online resource, the “Rice Paddy Music Festival”, and other activities, Zuobu Village has pushed for rural revitalization through the development of leisure tourism.
The festival this year integrated the native characteristics of rural culture with the fashion elements of traditional culture. In the surrounding traditional culture experience areas, music, chess, calligraphy, painting, tea-tasting, flower arrangement, and incense burning can all be enjoyed and visitors can feel the full charm of the traditional culture.
Lin Qingbiao, the Party Branch Secretary of Zuobu Village, said that this year, the number of restaurants in the village increased from 2 to 8, and there are more and more businesses related to leisure tourism. In addition, young people are more willing to stay in the village to help its development.
The Rice Paddy Music Festival integrates farming culture with modern culture and shows the collision of traditional culture with popular culture. Xu Xing, the Town Chief of Nanlang Town, believes that this festival can expand the influence of the agricultural industry and promote the in-depth integration of agriculture and cultural tourism. The music festival displays the unique humanistic culture, history, tourism resources, and rural revitalization achievements of Zuobu Village in Nanlang Town.
