Zhongshan recently became one of the national pilot cities strong in intellectual property (IP) development together with Zhuhai, Huizhou, Dongguan and Zhaoqing, according to an announcement by the China National Intellectual Property Administration.

In early 2022, the Zhongshan First-aid Center for Intellectual Property on Household Appliances and the Zhongshan First-aid Center for Intellectual Property on Photographic Equipment, located in the Nantou Town and Tanzhou Town respectively, were approved for establishment.

In the first half of 2022, the number of authorized patents in Zhongshan was 21,541, a year-on-year increase of 13.27%.
