The 2024 research report on advanced manufacturing cities was released by CCID Consulting, a subsidiary of the China Center for Information Industry Development, at the 2024 Advanced Manufacturing Development Conference on December 25. Zhongshan ranked 49th on the 2024 list of China's top 100 advanced manufacturing cities. Shenzhen, Suzhou and Guangzhou remained in the top three on the list.
Ten cities in Guangdong made the list, including Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan, Huizhou, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing and Shantou.
Zhongshan is an important manufacturing hub within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, boasting 34 major industrial sectors. It is home to 3 industrial clusters each valued at over 100 billion yuan and 8 clusters each exceeding 10 billion yuan in value. In the first 3 quarters of this year, Zhongshan's GDP and added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 4.1% and 6.0% year on year, respectively.
