Faculty of Foreign Languages of UESTC Zhongshan College has been approved by Ministry of Education to set up an additional major “Translation”. The major will admit students from this autumn.

Translation majors will receive diplomas and B.A certificates and then have options for pursuit of M.A. in either the translation major or other majors, when finishing all the courses set in the curriculum and meeting the degree-granting requirements.

Faculty of Foreign Languages has taken the responsibility of Project Construction of Zhongshan Municipal Web Portal in English and Japanese, fully compiling and translating news for straight seven years, with over 30 teachers and students involved. The translation volume for the English version has totaled to 280,000 words. In addition, about 100 students are sent to translate and interpret for Guzhen Lighting Device Exhibitions, Zhongshan Green Expo, etc.
