Xue Xiaofeng visited University of Electronic Science and Technology yesterday to discuss cooperation in building high-level university in Zhongshan.

Zhongshan hastened steps to build high level universities. After reaching agreement with the University of Coventry in Britain, Zhongshan municipal leaders Xue Xiaofeng and Wu Yuexia went to Chengdu yesterday to meet Wang Zhiqiang, Party Secretary of UESTC, and Li Yanrong, President of UESTC, to discuss cooperation in building high level university in Zhongshan. The two sides agreed to take hands to deepen cooperation between Zhongshan City and UESTC so as to improve the level and quality of Zhongshan College and to cultivate first-class disciplines.

Xue Xiaofeng pointed out that Zhongshan College, UESTC is the most successful and promising independent college in Guangdong Province. He hoped the two sides to take the opportunity to improve the level and quality of Zhongshan College. Guangdong provincial government and Zhongshan municipal government will give support to the cultivation of first-class disciplines in Zhongshan.
Wang Zhiqiang and Li Yanrong expressed that UEST has close ties with Zhongshan municipal government. The meeting revealed the determination of Zhongshan municipal government to build high level university. UEST will give full support to Zhongshan municipal government to improve the level of Zhongshan College.
