Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School, situated beside a river at the foot of the mountain and boasting evergreen trees, is called one of the most beautiful middle schools in China, maintaining intact architecture complex of the Republic of China (1912-1949). Setting steps on the campus, you will see the buildings featuring ROC style, similar to that of Dr. Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing and Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou. Built from 1931 to 1934, the complex has been listed in the 7th batch of National Cultural Relic Protection Units in May, 2013.
The renovation of Zhesheng Hall, Shouping Hall, Heling Hall and Haodong Hall has begun and Yat-sen Hall will soon be renovated. The project is expected to cost 42 million yuan, lasting for one year. The main building is likely to be completed by the end of this year so that the 80-year-old architecture will be revitalized to greet the 150th anniversary of the birthday of Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
