Vice Governor Deng Haiguang urged Zhongshan to build a national forest city while investigating the forestry development in Pearl River Delta cities.
Deng made a visit to Zhongshan Botanic Garden, Tianxin Forest Park, and investigated the forest form improvement program in Yixian Reservoir. Noting the densely wooded hills surrounding Yixian Reservoir, Deng stressed forestry development as a significant measure to improve water quality and protect ecosystem. He also encouraged Zhongshan to make the best of a profusion of forest parks spreading all over the city and strive for the title of National Forest City.
