Saraca asoca features splendid flowers and the unique resupinate leaves
A blooming flowers near ecology museum of arboretum look very unique with golden flowers and resupinate leaves, according to Ms. Liu who often comes to arboretum for physical exercise. This is actually a sacred species of Buddhism introduced to arboretum in recent years, and is called saraca asoca.
The tree is in flowering season now, and the layer-upon-layer flowers are like torches covering the crown. Looking from afar, the tree is like a pagoda. The interesting part is that the petioles are too soft to support the leaves, so they hang resupinately.
