A traditional Wen boats cruise was held by Da Ceng village of Huangpu town and Huakou community of Ronggui, Shunde on June 5th to celebrate Dragon Boat Festival. The boats start from Sansha A-Ma Temple and cross Da Ceng Li and Tian Jiu Wei. Crowds from the two places gather on two sides of Da Ceng and Hua Kou rivers and appreciate the well-decorated Wen boats. The cruising dragon boats are decorated with colorful silk umbrellas, height marks, colored flags, gongs and drums. Slowly sailing on the river are these flamboyant boats with temple models to worship the gods and flag-bearers waving astern in tune with drum and gong beats mixed up with firecrackers, all of which implies the wish for favorable weathers and prosperity of the country. The three Wen boats participating in the cruise are from De Ceng village of Huangpu town, Huakou community of Shunde and Sansha A-Ma Temple.
