A research team headed by Secretary Lin Shaochun of Politics and Law Committee and member of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial Committee conducted a survey in Zhongshan. Major municipal leaders Xue Xiaofeng, Lei Biaowei, Hou Yibing and Tan Peian accompanied through the survey and made briefings on the municipal government work.

The team visited the heavy-weighted enterprises that are located in Huoju Development Zone, including Union Optech CO., LTD, Mingyang Wind Power and Zhongshan Institute of Industrial Technologies. During the visit, Lin would always talk with the management, trying to learn about the development of the enterprises. Lin felt awed when being told that the products made by Union Optech has occupied more than 50% of the international market. He lauded that it was especially uneasy for a Chinese enterprise to make that achievement because Japan and the United States are in undoubtedly leading position in terms of optical technology.

Major municipal leader Tan Peian made a report on the work of constructing a peaceful and safe Zhongshan while accompanying Lin in the visit.
