Retired teacher Lu Liang in his nineties in Banfu Town was awarded the title of China’s Good Samaritan in May, according to a list released by the Office of the Central Spiritual Civilization Development Steering Commission. Mr.Lu is dedicated to the cause of education, keeping teaching English for free even after retirement. In 2015, Mr. Lu, frugal in his life, donated all his savings, 258,000 yuan to Banfu Middle School when it was raising money to construct a cafeteria.

The May list of China’s Good Samaritans had 101 individuals selected, 3 of whom are from Guangdong Province.
