A survey recently conducted by the State Statistical Bureau Zhongshan Survey Panel about aged square dancers’ attitude toward social administration, shows nearly 80 percent of the interviewees are eager or already involved in social work.

This year’s Public Interest Entrepreneurship and Investment program has received 116 applications, some of which are from grassroots organizations like square dancers. In their applications, they planned to create more dances and undertake various community activities, such as 430 Tutoring Class, anti-fraud publicity, neighborhood benefit association. The panel observed that the applied projects were extremely localized and grouped, showing the square dancers are enthusiastic about the welfare of the communities.
