The 2015 Negotiation Seminar between CPPCC members and the Mayor was held on 26th, discussing and making suggestions on topics of integrating, upgrading and making use of tourism resources of Sun Yat-sen culture. Municipal leaders attended and listened to the suggestions carefully.

The Research Report on Integrating, Upgrading and Making Use of Tourism resources of Sun Yat-sen Culture was released in the meeting, appealing to catch the opportunity of the 150th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen’s birth in 2016 and establish the national 5A scenery site by taking the former residence of Sun Yat-sen as the core part. It is also an overall and strategic measure to promote social and economic development of Zhongshan through integrating, upgrading and making use of the Sun Yat-sen cultural resources.

In addition, the report further pointed out that as the pioneer of Chinese democratic revolution, Sun Yat-sen is a great man in all Chinese people’s eyes, and his hometown is the cradle of Chinese modern history with rich cultural resources.

According to the requirements of constructing a national 5A scenery site, Zhongshan is applying by integrating various resources, such as Memorial Hall of Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen, Memorial Park of the 1911 Revolution in Cuiheng and Zhongshan Sun Yat-sen Memorial School and so on.

Many tourists from home and abroad visit the Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen every year.

The Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen is the core of the tourism resource.
