On April 1, a rice transplanter was shuttling back and forth in the paddy field of the Luquansha Ecological Agriculture Park in Dachong Town, with rows of green seedlings planted neatly.
More than 200 mu (about 13.3 hectares) of paddy fields in Luquansha have been transplanted in recent days. Australian freshwater lobsters were also raised here.
Luquansha started introducing Australian freshwater lobsters last year to further develop the agriculture industry. Raising lobsters in ditches around rice paddy fields is becoming a fruitful model for integrated rice cultivation and fish farming and has greatly improved land utilization rate and added additional value, thus forming an agricultural ecosystem suitable for both rice and freshwater lobsters.
