The Zhongshan "Cantonese Cuisine Chef" Vocational Skills Competition and Guangdong Catering Industry Vocational Skills Competition - Zhongshan Selective Trial was held on June 17 at Zhongshan Sanxiang Polytechnic School. A total of 150 Cantonese cuisine chefs took part in the competition.
The competition was divided into two parts: Cantonese cuisine cooking and Cantonese pastry making. In the Cantonese cuisine cooking session, the contestants were tasked to cook an assigned dish and a self-selected dish using Zhongshan crisped grass carp.
The competition lasted for one and a half days, and the contestants showed their ingenuity while cooking nearly 300 dishes. Among the contestants who ranked in the top 20% of the competition, after comprehensive evaluation by the organizing committee and the expert panel, six contestants will be selected as reserve members to participate in the "Guangdong Catering Industry Vocational Skills Competition".
