A ground-breaking ceremony for provincial-level modern agricultural industrial park projects in Zhongshan was held in Huangpu Town on May 18. Huangpu Town, well known for its preserved meat industry, and Sanjiao Town, renowned for its snakehead fish cultivation, will build 2 provincial-level modern agricultural industrial parks with large-scale farming cycle, joint processing techniques, science and technology integration, marketing and branding, digital industry patterns and other features to set up examples for rural industrial revitalization.

The construction period of Huangpu Preserved Meat Industrial Park is 3 years, and its planned core area is about 666.6 hectares in size. Centering on seven key construction projects including the 5G breeding digital agricultural construction project, agricultural product quality and safety control project and preserved meat industry large-scale automation equipment upgrading project, it is planned to construct a core production area, a raw material processing area, primary, secondary and tertiary industry integration areas, a cultural tourism industry area, and a logistics zone.

There are more than 200 enterprises engaged in preserved meat processing and auxiliary products in Huangpu Town, with an annual output of more than 200,000 tons and an output value (of the primary and secondary industries of preserved meat) of about 3.6 billion yuan.

The planned investment of Sanjiao Town Snakehead Fish Industrial Park is over 300 million yuan, with a total of 15 projects to be implemented, including a modern snakehead fish processing base, the establishment of circulation and transportation teams such as for the cold processing chain, and business activities for sightseeing, science education, cultural innovation, homestays and catering.

At present, the annual output value of the snakehead fish industrial chain of Sanjiao Town has exceeded 1.7 billion yuan, and the production of commercial snakehead fish is about 80,000 tons each year. There are over 230 snakehead fish farmers in Sanjiao Town and more than 2,000 workers in the industry.
