The Joint Research Center for Nano-Bio Detection and Application of Healthy Foods was unveiled at the Juxiangyuan Museum of Cake Culture on September 12.
The center is co-established by Juxiangyuan Health Food (Zhongshan) Co, the Zhongshan Institute of Changchun University of Science and Technology and the International Research Centre for Nano Handling and Manufacturing of China to accelerate the research and application of nano-technology in the healthy food field.
The center will conduct in-depth cooperation in technology with Juxiangyuan, focusing on the food industry. Advanced nano-technology will be employed to detect various cells, bacteria, viruses, DNA, chromosomes and proteins, so as to enable the precise detection and identification of microscopic biological characteristics and microscopic fingerprints.
Meanwhile, bio-technology, nano-manipulation technology and information technology will be utilized to quantitatively measure the effectiveness of food at the molecular level based on the quantitative detection of nanometer and multidimensional biological information. This is done to conduct functional screening and safety evaluation, quantitatively measure and analyze the short-term and long-term effects of food on health, and achieve quantitative efficacy evaluation.
Founded in 1918, Juxiangyuan is a time-honored brand that pays attention to innovation-driven development. The company possesses such platforms as academician workstations, branches of state key laboratories and postdoctoral workstations. Additionally, it has established partnerships with over 10 research institutes and universities such as Jiangnan University.
