Zhongshan municipal government has made huge inroads into developing rural tourism. According to the newly revealed list of the 3rd batch of demonstration towns and scenic spots of rural tourism, 2 towns and 4 scenic spots claimed a spot in the list, bringing the total of demonstration towns and scenic spots respectively to 3 and 8. The government is about to roll out a slew of initiatives to further develop these rural scenic spots to AAAA or AAA tourist attractions.
