It was May 6 yesterday in the Lunar Calendar and a folk show called Yakou Piaose was held grandly in Yakou Village, Nanlang Town. The show attracted nearly a thousand visitors from nearby towns and other areas in the Pearl River Delta region. This year’s show had the most visitors in the recent years, including over 200 tourist groups.
Put on the name list of the national intangible cultural relics in 2008, Yakou Piaose is a charming folk custom with a history of over 230 years. With efforts of generations, it has become a grand folk artistic activity, which attracts more and more attention.
