From Oct.18th to 28th, the trade delegation of Zhongshan, led by Chen Genkai, the secretary of municipal party committee, took part in the “Sino (Cantonese) - Egyptian Trade Cooperation Fair 2010” hosted by Guangdong Province in Cairo, the “Cantonese, Hong Kong – Indian Economic, Technological and Trade Cooperation Fair” hosted by Guangdong Province and Hong Kong in New Delhi, as well as the “Show of Fashionable Life in Guangdong and Hong Kong: Bombay” held in Bombay, etc. 11 investment projects were agreed upon between Zhongshan and foreign businessmen, with a total contract investment volume of 120 million US dollars and a total business volume of 370 million US dollars.

There were more participants than expected in the above events in Cairo, New Delhi and Bombay. Particularly popular among the foreign businessmen were products made in Zhongshan, including household electrical appliances, products of machinery and electronics, and hardware products, charcharacterized by high end orientedness and large scale extension. The sales contracts signed between Fudi Co. Ltd from Zhongshan and El—Fath Engineering Company from Egypt and between TCL Air Conditioners (Zhongshan) Co. Ltd and Indian businessmen were more than 10 million US dollars respectively. Attracted by the fairs, a large number of businessmen came to take part in the events. On the day of the opening ceremony of the “Show of Fashionable Life in Guangdong and Hong Kong: Bombay”, more than 1, 000 groups of businessmen and visitors came to Midea, TCL and Kaiyu from Zhongshan. Products made in Zhongshan were particularly popular.
