This year, the municipal government and party committee urged to promote the development of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s hometown and the eastern coastal areas. Nanlang Town took advantage of the policy to quicken its pace of investment promotion. This year’s Trade & Investment Fair has helped Nanlang to attract 40 projects and 10 billion yuan investment.

Several characteristics are reflected in this year’s investment promotion: 1. Many of them are quality projects. The investment amount averaged at 255 million yuan and there are 28 projects of which the investment exceeds 10 million yuan. 2. It has attracted not only domestic capital but also foreign capital. 14 projects, valued at 2.17 billion yuan, are invested by foreign companies and 26 projects, valued 8.05 billion yuan, are invested by domestic companies. 3. The clustering effect is obvious in health and medicine industries. Southern China Modern Chinese Medicine City has introduced 13 projects, valued at 1.79 billion yuan. 4. Green technology and equipment-manufacturing are developing fast. 7 such projects with a total investment of 2.04 billion yuan have been introduced. 5. Projects in tertiary-industry remain strong. 10 projects have been introduced, valued at 4.46 billion yuan. Suning, one of the 2 leading retailers of home appliances in China, plans to invest 800 million yuan in constructing a logistics center.

The introduction of large-scale projects is to provide a strong support for the upgrade and transformation of Nanlang’s economic development pattern. The town will step up the construction of these projects, trying to turn the fruits of investment promotion into concrete economic development.
