Mayor Chen Liangxian met with Ecuador's consul-general in Guangzhou, Mariella Molina to exchange ideas on economic cooperation, investment, culture and tourism.

As a leader of consuls team in Guangzhou, Mariella intends to learn about the featured industries in Zhongshan and acknowledge the status-quo of Zhongshan’s economy and social development, and the cooperation between the two countries.

Chen pointed out that Zhongshan has a solid foundation of economy and a favorable geographical location and boasts with industry clusters as equipment manufacturing, electronic information, lighting, health and medicine. He hopes to set up friendly relationship with Guayaquil, the biggest city in Ecuador to develop deep cooperation in trade, investment, culture and tourism. He also hopes to establish long-term exchange platform with consuls of Latin America to share information and resources.
