Large-scale Equipment Manufacturing Project of China Railway Group Limited (China Railway), which is located in Linhai Industrial Park of Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone, was launched yesterday. Party Secretary Chen Genkai, Vice President of China Railway Duan Xiubin, Party Secretary of Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone Feng Shusheng, and Vice Mayor Feng Yurong attended the launching ceremony.

The Southern Equipment Manufacturing Base in Linhai Industrial Park encompasses a wide range of production, including steel structure of bridges, railway construction machinery, marine engineering equipment, port construction machinery and wind power generation equipment. Besides, the Manufacturing Base has a strategic significance for the China Railway’s distribution in the whole country, with an immense influence to the Southern China, Macao and Hong Kong as well as Southeast Asia and even the whole world. The project is expected to be put into use at the beginning of 2012. Up till 2014, the turnover of the whole project will reach 10 billion yuan.
