Demolition ceremonies for the third batch of inefficient industrial parks in rural areas were held across Zhongshan on May 6. Guo Wenhai, secretary of the CPC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, Xiao Zhanxin, Zhongshan mayor, and other city leaders attended the ceremonies in Huangpu and Sanxiang towns. Other sub-ceremonies were held in Torch Development Zone, Tsuihang New District, South District, Xiaolan, Henglan, Sanjiao and Shenwan among towns and districts.

The ceremony in Huangpu was held in Dacen Village for a demolition plot which is a part of the 3,041-mu (about 202.7 hectares) Zhongshan Intelligent Home Appliances Industrial Park (Dacen Area).

"This industrial park will serve as a gateway for the integrated development between the three northern Zhongshan towns and Shunde District to jointly build an intelligent home appliance industry cluster, with an industrial output value of over one trillion yuan. Huangpu is hoped to seize this opportunity to build a modern intelligent home appliance industrial park and take a leading role in the integrated development," said Guo, adding that Huangpu has advantages in location, convenient transportation and huge development potential. He stressed the need to eliminate outdated production methods through industrial transformation, make room for outstanding local enterprises to increase capital and expand production, attract high-end manufacturing enterprises, and make every effort to expand and strengthen the intelligent home appliance industry.
