In 2020, Zhou Xiaodi (right in the photo above) in his 30s quit his job despite his family's opposition and returned to Longtouhuan Village in Shaxi Town, Zhongshan. With three of his friends, Zhou built a food-theme creative industry park. Assembled with containers of different shapes and colors, the park is built to introduce different characteristic restaurants and attract young customers.

The park was put into trial operation for a period of time last year, and has been upgraded for new restaurants this year. At present, colored containers in the park are developed into 9 shops with various shapes and design concepts. One of them is inspired by the ancient watchtower in Longtouhuan Village.

"We hope to attract more visitors through creative catering services so as to increase the village's collective income and inject more vitality into rural revitalization," Zhou Xiao said.

"Next, we plan to start the construction of the phase 2 of the park, which covers a total area of about 6666.7 square meters," said Zhou Xiaodi, adding that the design scheme has been completed. The second phase which includes 72 containers aims at creating a night market economy-oriented display and sales venue for small commodities, casual clothing, cultural and creative products and local food.
