Su Huatao, who is in his 20s, follows in his father's footsteps to manage more than 6.7 hectares of fish ponds every day by Yanjiang Road, Minzhong Town. He has a dream to make Zhongshan fishes to be of higher quality and more profitable. His has inspired many people in Minzhong to work with him to realize this dream.

Statistics show that Zhongshan exported about 30,000 tons of fresh, local aquatic products in 2018. The total export volume of aquatic products in Minzhong Town exceeded 11,000 tons, accounting for 1/3 of Zhongshan's annual total.

Zhongshan fishes had been popular among consumers in Hong Kong and Macao. Over 9,000 tons of various edible aquatic products were supplied to the Macao market in 2019, accounting for more than 80% of the market share in Macao.

The aquaculture industry in Zhongshan is striving to become a supplier of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
