On March 3, the flowers and trees base in Henglan Town, the Hometown of Flowers and Trees in China, was crowded with people and vehicles. After the Spring Festival, the base saw high sales numbers with daily shipments exceeding 30 million yuan.
"This year's sales have increased by at least 30% compared with the same period in 2019," said Chen Yanlian, the first president of the Henglan Town Sansha Flower Association, adding that with the acceleration of park and garden construction in various places, the demand for flowers and trees began to pick up this month.
The booming sales of flowers and trees have driven up local land values, with the rent per mu of some land increasing by more than 10,000 yuan. Over 20 enterprises from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Jiangxi and other provinces have set up production in Henglan Flowers and Trees Base this year.
