With nearly 40 years of development, the snakehead fish industry has grown into a pillar of the agricultural industry in Sanjiao Town and is seen as a "magic weapon" for local farmers to increase their income.

At present, Sanjiao Town uses about 11,935 mu of land for the farming of snakehead fish, with an annual production of 65,000 tons and an annual output value of over 900 million yuan. As an important production base of hybrid snakehead fry, Sanjiao Town produces and sells more than 3.5 billion young hybrids to the whole country every year, accounting for 60% of the national hybrid snakehead fry market, with an output value exceeding 200 million yuan.

The local snakehead fish industry is booming. In addition to various favorable rural revitalization policies, assistance from the taxation department is also indispensable. The Sanjiao Branch of the Zhongshan Taxation Bureau, together with the public service office and the housing and urban-rural development department, delivered government services and tax policies to local farmers to boost the development of the "Sanjiao Snakehead Fish" brand.

"The taxation department is giving full support to Sanjiao in creating a municipal modern agricultural industry park. As of the end of July, Sanjiao's fishery industry earned 600 million yuan in tax-free sales," said Zou Da, deputy director of the Sanjiao Branch of the Zhongshan Taxation Bureau.

"Since the beginning of this year, we have sold about 1.15 million kilograms of snakehead fish, all of which were tax-free. If the market stays stable, profits are expected to exceed one million yuan this year," said the person in charge of Liangqiufu Aquatic Product Seedling Farm in Sanjiao Town.

To further promote industrial and rural revitalization, Sanjiao Town is creating a modern agricultural industry park integrating R&D of aquatic products, large-scale breeding, tourism and processing.
