The month-long "2021 Sanjiao Snakehead Fish Food Culture Carnival" kicked off in Sanjiao Dasin Metro-Mall on December 5. This is the first large-scale food carnival themed around the snakehead fish in Zhongshan.
Local Qilin Dance performances opened the "2021 Sanjiao Snakehead Fish Food Culture Carnival". A total of 30 famous local restaurants from Sanjiao, Dongsheng, Nanlang, Xiaolan, Shaxi and East District became among the first batch of restaurants dedicated to the promotion of Sanjiao Snakehead Fish cuisine.
Thirty famous Cantonese chefs from major restaurants in Zhongshan have been hired as gourmet ambassadors, who will participate in the development of dishes featuring snakehead fish. In late December and early January, a large cooking competition featuring the snakehead fish will be held in Sanjiao to select the best snakehead fish dishes through voting activities.
So far, Sanjiao has already developed a mature industrial chain integrating fry breeding, fish farming, product circulation and processing of snakehead fish. About 11,000 mu of land in Sanjiao is used to farm snakehead fish, with an annual commercial production of 80,000 tons and an annual output value exceeding 1 billion yuan.
