The 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Chinese Medicine Inheritance Innovation and Development Conference was held in Zhongshan on August 25 and 26. With the theme of "Developing a Traditional Chinese Medicine Highland within the Greater Bay Area", the conference was held to strengthen communication, promote cooperation and make coordinated efforts to facilitate the construction of a highland for the TCM industy.
Guo Wenhai, secretary of the CPC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, delivered a speech at the event. He said Zhongshan would continue to deepen cooperation with its sister cities in the GBA and build itself into an important base for the TCM industry in Guangdong with the help of experts and scholars. He hoped that entrepreneurs and experts in the TCM industry could come to work in Zhongshan to jointly promote the inheritance innovation and development of traditional Chinese medicine.
About 300 representatives from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in traditional Chinese medical treatment, education and industry sectors attended the conference through online and offline channels. They made suggestions for the development of TCM in the GBA regarding development planning, cultural inheritance and scientific and technological innovation.
Nine projects were contracted at the event, including the Hong-Kong Zhongshan scientific research innovation and transformation platform, the "Imaging Diagnosis (Bone and Joint Diseases) Online Course" program, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University-based Alliance on Clinical Foundation of Chinese Medicine, and other industry-university-research cooperation projects.
