The Zhongshan Agricultural Science and Technology Promotion Center expert group carried out late rice harvest yield calculation and acceptance inspection for the "Three News" demonstration base operated by Guangdong Xinwang Agricultural Cooperative in Torch Development Zone recently.
According to the inspection report, the base had an average yield of 561.5kg per mu, 32.1% more than generally fertilized areas. It could reduce 15kg of fertilizers used and 100 yuan of fertilizer and labor cost for each mu of farmland.
"Three News" demonstration base refers to an agricultural base that utilizes new technologies, promotes new farm products and applies new farming machines and tools.
This year, Zhongshan has established seven agricultural demonstration zones and five agricultural demonstration bases in Torch Development Zone, Nanlang District, Sanxiang Town, Shenwan Town and Tanzhou Town, with a total area of more than 10,000 mu.
