The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) policy came into effect on January 1, 2022, creating an important opportunity for many enterprises to further broaden the intra-regional markets.

In 2022, Zhongshan Customs under the jurisdiction of Gongbei Customs issued over 2,600 RCEP certificates of origin for 120 enterprises, with a value of goods at nearly 900 million yuan. More than 2,400 were issued for goods exported to Japan, accounting for nearly 93%, with a value of goods at 810 million yuan, accounting for about 90%.

With the RCEP coming into effect, Zhongshan Customs has stepped up efforts to promote the policy by offering six special lectures for more than 600 enterprises. For enterprises with exports to Japan, Zhongshan Customs specially set up WeChat groups and consultation hotlines to help them resolve problems.
