Torch Development Zone in Zhongshan has recently released four industrial support policies, covering sci-tech innovation, finance, modern services as well as such industries as biomedicine, optoelectronics, high-end equipment manufacturing and new energy.

Specifically, a maximum subsidy of 50 million yuan will be given to each of top 500 domestic and foreign companies or listed companies that establish domestic or regional headquarters in TDZ.

Each high-level talent project with a venture capital of 10 million yuan may be given an initial fund of up to 5 million yuan.

Each eligible drug R&D company may receive a maximum subsidy of 78 million yuan for a single category-1 new product, and a total of up to 100 million yuan a year. 

To encourage the research and development of medical devices, each company may receive a reward of up to 50 million yuan.

Each medical institution that rent medical instruments and devices that are independently developed and manufactured by biomedical companies in TDZ can receive a rental subsidy of up to 4 million yuan per year.

Newly-accredited national industrial innovation centers, national manufacturing innovation centers and national technology innovation centers may receive a maximum reward of 8 million yuan each. Newly-accredited national key laboratories, national key enterprise-based laboratories, national engineering technology research centers, national engineering research centers and national engineering laboratories may receive a reward of up to 5 million yuan each.

The new policies shall remain valid for three years starting from January 1, 2023.
