A number of local enterprises in Zhongshan's Torch Development Zone are growing strong at faster pace. Recently, Zhongshan Competent Automation Equipment Co and Zhongshan Guangda Optical Instrument Co have obtained land usage rights for their new headquarters bases in the Torch Industrial Group park.

Founded in July 2011, Competent is a modern high-tech enterprise engaged in the research and development, smart production, sales and services of loop winding and coil products. Founded in April 2005, Guangda Optics is a high-tech enterprise engaged in the research and development, smart production, sales and services of optical components and lens.

Both plots are in Shabian Village. With an area of 20 mu and a planned total investment of 250 million yuan, Competent's electronic coil intelligent equipment R&D, production and application base is expected to generate an annual output value of 400 million yuan at its full capacity. With an area of 10.4 mu and a planned total investment of 130 million yuan, Guangda Optics' optical instrument R&D and manufacturing base is expected to generate an annual output value of 208 million yuan at its full capacity.
