Zhongshan Competent Automation Equipment Co's headquarters production base and Zhongshan Guangda Optics Instrument Co's technology innovation center both started construction on August 6 in the Torch Industrial Group park.

With a planned investment of 250 million yuan, the Competent base covers a land area of 20 mu and has a total floor area of 35,000 square meters. It will include areas for production, research and development, office use and living. The project is expected to generate an annual output value of 400 million yuan at its full capacity.

With a planned investment of 130 million yuan, the Guangda center covers a land area of 10.4 mu and has a total floor area of about 27,000 square meters. It will focus on the development and production of high-end, sophisticated, innovative optical components. Within three years after completion, the center is expected to produce about 100 million optical components per year and generate an annual output value of 208 million yuan.
