The Hong Kong-Zhongshan Investment Forum was held in Hong Kong on August 9.
The Zhongshan municipal government and some of its towns and districts introduced the favorable business environment and vast opportunities, aiming to attract more outstanding enterprises and businessmen from Hong Kong to invest and develop in Zhongshan. Torch Development Zone, Cuiheng New District, Shiqi District, East District and Tanzhou Town signed investment cooperation agreements with enterprises and institutions in Hong Kong, covering a wide range of fields such as new energy, high-end equipment manufacturing, next-generation information technology and modern services.
The Zhongshan municipal government and the Chinese University of Hong Kong also signed a cooperation framework agreement, under which the two sides will co-found an innovation center basing on Zhongshan's geographical and industrial advantages and CUHK's competence in innovation and entrepreneurship, talent training, sci-tech research and technology transfer. In the future, the two sides will cooperate in innovation team introduction, research finding commercialization and industrial matchmaking, commercialize CUHK's innovative R&D results in Zhongshan, and carry out joint technological development and research for enterprises. Efforts will be made to deepen government-enterprise-university-institute cooperation, so as to create an innovation highland in the Greater Bay Area that gathers talented people and pursues coordinated development.
