Iniciated by Mingyang Smart Energy Group Co Ltd and jointly established by the Zhongshan Institute of Advanced Cryogenic Technology, Sinoscience Fullcryo (Zhongshan) Low Temperature Equipment Manufacturing Co Ltd and the other six major organizations, the Guangdong New Marine Energy Innovation Center was recently approved by the Guangdong Department of Industry and Information Technology.

The center will focus on groundbreaking technological research and development, and industrial manufacturing of new technologies at the forefront of marine power generation. In order to lead the development of the offshore new energy industry, the research and development of long-term technological solutions such as large-scale offshore wind turbines, seawater-to-hydrogen production technology, offshore power transmission technology, energy storage technology, and wave energy converter (WEC) technology will be prioritized.

At present, 33 provincial-level manufacturing innovation centers are planned in Guangdong Province in the fields of next-gen information technology, smart home appliances, ultra HD video displays, high-end equipment, biomedicine and health, automobiles, advanced materials, artificial intelligent, cutting-edge new materials, new energy, etc. Zhongshan will reward 10 million yuan and 5 million yuan respectively to those recognized as national or provincial manufacturing innovation centers.
