As Dragon Boat Festival approaches, the rice dumplings (zongzi) produced in Zhongshan are under the season of sales. On the morning of May 20, in the processing workshop of Zhongshan Mingyue Food, fresh rice dumplings were sending forth a delicate fragrance.
These rice dumplings will be exported to Macao. According to the company's director, these rice dumplings are big with rich ingredients and are welcomed by Hong Kong and Macao people. "Each of the rice dumplings has three salted egg yolks and three pieces of pork. They will enter Macao via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge within one day."
According to the latest data from the customs department, Zhongshan has exported 10.5 tons of rice dumplings to Macao this year after passing quarantine inspection, with a value of about 673,000 yuan.
