The 10th China (Zhongshan) International Electronic Information Products and Technology Fair & the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Establishment of Zhongshan Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone were inaugurated yesterday. Vice Guangdong Governor Liu Kun, Party Secretary Chen Genkai, and Acting Mayor Xue Xiaofeng attended the opening ceremony and Vice Mayor Fen Yurong presided over the ceremony.
Since 2001, the IT Fair, one of the most influential exhibitions in electronic information industry in South China, has been held successfully in Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone for 9 consecutive sessions. This year marks its 10th session and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone, both of which face a fresh start. The development of new information technologies, such as Internet of Things and Cloud Computing, brings broad development space for the emerging electronic information industry.
Xue Xiaofeng said Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone as one of the first batch of national high-tech industrial development zones is the driving force for development in Zhongshan. In 20 years, it has attracted 20 out of Fortune Global 500 companies and modern industries, such as new energy and healthy medicine, have experienced rapid development there. 10 years’ leap-frog development of IT Fair witnessed the emergence of China’s electronic information industry and the independent innovation of electronic information industry in Zhongshan. At present, Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone is becoming the engine for the industrial upgrading and scientific development in Zhongshan.
